Murder suspect travelled to B.C. Salim Jiwa and John Colebourn The Province Sunday, December 02, 2001 AUBURN, Wash. -- The man suspected of being the Green River Killer travelled repeatedly to B.C., both by truck and motorhome, his neighbours have told The Province. Gary Leon Ridgway -- arrested Friday in connection with the deaths of four women on the list of victims of the Green River serial killer -- also travelled to Oregon, they said. Reports of his Canadian connection have a joint RCMP-Vancouver police task force eager to determine if the arrest will shed light on 45 women missing from the Downtown Eastside. Talks are expected between Canadian and U.S. investigators shortly. Although U.S. police have been careful not to refer to Ridgway as the Green River Killer, interest is focused on the murders of more than 40 women, most of them prostitutes, found in or near Seattle's Green River between 1982 and '84. Among the victims was Vancouver's Yvonne Antosh, who disappeared from a sex stroll near the Seattle airport in May 1983. Shortly after the Seattle murders stopped in '84, women began to go missing in Vancouver. No bodies have been found. A senior RCMP officer, who asked not to be named, said that while no DNA is available from most of the missing B.C. women, samples of Ridgway's could be compared to DNA recovered from three bodies found near Aggassiz in 1995. The bodies are those of Tracy Olajide, Tammy Lee Pipe and Victoria Younker. All were involved in drugs and the sex trade. Meantime, news of Ridgway's arrest has spooked his neighbours in the heavily wooded area of the Seattle suburb of Auburn near Geneva Lake -- not far from where his suspected victims were found. Kirstin Colts, a neighbour of Ridgway and his wife Judith, said she believed he had made several trips to B.C.: "The neighbours were all gathered around when they heard he was a suspect and they were talking about how he travelled a lot to B.C. and Oregon. He used the motorhome to go to B.C." The vehicle was still behind police crime-scene tapes yesterday. Ridgway had a brush with a Seattle policewoman posing as a hooker in 1984 but was released. He was, however, never taken off the suspect list and new DNA techniques finally helped police link him to three of the four murders he's suspected of. His DNA sample was obtained in the early '80s. Ridgway's arrest left Vancouver prostitutes' advocate Jamie Lee Hamilton hoping police distribute his photo locally -- and worried about the potential for copycat killings. Ridgway was ordered held without bail in King County jail and is expected to be charged this week. He has been linked to the deaths of three women found in the Green River in 1982 and one found in the woods in '83. | ||||

Subject: I saw Nickolay Soltys ...at Davis Hospital in Sacramento this morning while on my Paramedic internship. We brought a guy into the ambulance emergency entrance where we saw some dude dressed in orange with a netted mask over his head sitting in a corner surrounded by 10 cops. It's very complete and I pretty like it, but I disagree in one aspect: do you really consider McVeigh a mass murderer? Well, he killed lots of people, but that's not exactly the point, is it? Subject: Unusual Story Just thought I would share an unusual story with you. This one kind of takes a personal place with me because it unfolded accross the street from me. I'm not sure how much detail you like to be sent to you so I will give you the basics. If you need more, feel free to e-mail me back and I will tell you what I know:
Terry Lee Hankins Basically, the guy was thrown in jail for beating the crap out of his girlfriend. His ex-wife, who lived accross the street from me, helped generate the money to bail him out of jail. They were divorced because she, Tammy Hankins, had discovered that Terry had raped his half sister in the past, got her pregnant, etc.. Anyway, she bails him out, he begins staying at her house along with her two children. Weeks later, when Tammy and her two kids were being missed, a neighbor went over to their house to check on them. She found Tammy and the kids all dead with gunshot wounds to the head. I couldn't believe it. My soon to be wife and I just sat out on our front porch watching things unfold right there in front of us. The following morning, the police were tipped to his where-abouts, which lead to a four or five hour stand off. He was at a girlfriends apartment. Once in custody, he admitted to killing his father and his half sister (the one he knocked up), almost a year prior. He told the police where they could find the bodies, the police went to the locations and sure enough.....at his dad's mobile home, still sitting in his lounger, was his badly decomposed father. Terry had been going back there for almost a year, putting up air fresheners, mowing the lawn and paying the rent so no one would grow suspicious. They found his half sister in a plastic storage container, in a junked out, blocked up car, outside a autoshop/storage company. Anyway, this was a slap in the face by reallity for me, that freaks like that do exist in the world and are walking among us. To think this sick-o was right out in front of my house. This all took place a day or two before the victims of Adam Moss were discovered. It was publicized in Arlington, Fort Worth, and Dallas as well as Mansfield. Kevin | ||||

Subject: Vancouver - How the police investigation was flawed, Too few officers, police infighting How the police investigation was flawed, Too few officers, police infighting and lack of experience undermined first probe into disappearances The Vancouver Sun Sat 22 Sep 2001 Lindsay Kines, Kim Bolan and Lori Culbert The original Vancouver city police investigation of missing women on the Downtown Eastside was assigned to inexperienced and overworked officers without the time or resources to do a thorough job, The Vancouver Sun has learned. In some cases, the officers distrusted one another, withheld information from the rest of the team, or lacked the proper training to handle such a complex case. The Sun has also learned that there were data entry problems with the computer system that was used to manage information about the case. The result was a deficient investigation into what may be the largest serial murder case in the city's history. And at least one officer familiar with the case has said the investigation was so rife with problems that the case should be the subject of a public inquiry. The investigation goes back to the summer of 1998, when Vancouver police assigned a second officer to its missing-persons section to review a sharp increase in the number of missing women. Then, in 1999, the department formed the Missing Women Review Team amid mounting public pressure over the disappearances, and rising fear that a serial killer was stalking Vancouver prostitutes. Mayor Philip Owen and senior police officers assured the media at the time that the department was doing everything it could to solve the case. The city and province offered a $100,000 reward, brought John Walsh from television's America's Most Wanted to town to release a poster of all 31 women and, at one point, police told the media that nine people were at work on the file. "The women's families and friends, and the entire Downtown Eastside community need to know what has happened," Owen said in a July 1999, press release. "We're doing everything we can to get answers." But The Sun's two-month investigation has found the police response left much to be desired. Based on interviews with more than a dozen active and retired police officers, as well as internal police documents obtained by the newspaper, The Sun has determined that the Vancouver police either lacked the resources to investigate the disappearances properly or resisted shifting them to a difficult case where they had no bodies, no crime scenes, no forensic evidence, and too many possible suspects. Among The Sun's findings: *Although Vancouver police told the media and the public they had up to nine people working on the file, many of those officers were either assigned part-time or were working two jobs at once -- meaning the actual number of officers on the case at any one time was far less than reported. *The sergeant in charge of the investigation was essentially doing the work of two or even three people -- supervising an on-call homicide team of eight officers, overseeing the coroner's liaison and missing person's units while leading a probe into a possible serial murder case rivalling that of the Green River Killer in Washington state. *The two homicide detectives assigned to the team were still doing work on a number of unsolved murders, as well as assisting with fresh homicides -- even as they pursued a growing list of suspects in the missing women case. *Two of the initial investigators on the case were junior members of the department who had less than 20 years experience between them and had never worked in the homicide squad. *Initially, nobody on the review team -- including the sergeant -- had received major case management training from the Canadian Police College, which is considered the standard requirement for officers conducting complex investigations. *The investigation was hampered by infighting between investigators and allegations that at least two members of the team were withholding information from other officers and running parallel investigations without alerting the others. The Sun has learned that the situation was so bad that some investigators refused to sit in the same room with each other. *There were too few data entry people and those in place lacked the necessary training on the case management computer system. At one point, material was lost from the computer -- although the team still had back-up copies on paper. The computer problems raised concerns among some investigators that any future court case would be compromised or, worse, that the key tip needed to solve the case had yet to be processed. *Officers became so frustrated with the lack of time and resources to do a thorough job that they began burning out and requested transfers to other sections. Despite all the problems, the review team did make significant progress on the case before the investigation was scaled back last fall. Even critics of the department have praised individual officers on the review team for their sensitivity and dedication to the case, and for overcoming a lack of resources to achieve a measure of success. For instance, detectives, located four of the women by following up leads, monitoring bank accounts, e-mailing pictures to psychiatric hospitals, border crossings and police departments; and checking databanks across the country for medical, social service, vital statistics and coroner's records. Two of the women were located alive, while two had died -- one of a heart condition, the other of a drug overdose. But the myriad problems with the investigation and the lack of resources meant that important tasks were never completed. The team began, but never finished a survey of sex trade workers to get their ideas on who might be responsible for the disappearances -- something that proved effective in a similar investigation of missing prostitutes in Poughkeepsie, New York. Investigators looked at 1,348 tips, but a number received only cursory treatment and still required more analysis and follow-up by the time the team was scaled back last fall. And although they contacted other jurisdictions to see if they had relevant cases, the team was unable to do the kind of thorough file review now being done by the new joint forces team of RCMP and Vancouver city police, which assumed control of the cases earlier this year. As a result, police are still turning up cases three years into the investigation and now have more than a dozen possible additions to the list. They are also checking all murders of prostitutes, attempted murders and sexual assaults across the province for potential links to the missing women case. "We did a pretty good investigation given what we had," said Sergeant Geramy Field, who headed up the missing women review team. "In hindsight, if we'd had more people, we could have done a better investigation -- a faster investigation." Field, for instance, said she would have preferred to respond more quickly to new missing women cases, which conceivably offered the freshest leads on a potential serial murder suspect. "But there weren't enough people to do that," she said. "I would have liked to have had time to meet with the families on a more frequent basis," she said. "But there wasn't enough time." And Field said it would have been nice, in retrospect, to have had a person heading up the investigation who was trained in major case management and had no other responsibilities. But at the time, there were only two people in the entire department with major case management training. Officers interviewed for the story say the problems with the investigation were typical of a department so strapped for resources that it barely has enough people to handle day-to-day responsibilities -- let alone properly investigate a case as overwhelming as the disappearance of 31 women. "Most police departments -- and Vancouver's no exception -- they're all trying to be leaner and meaner and trying to reduce their budgets," said retired Detective Ron Lepine, who worked on the case. "They don't want to commit resources or people or money and time into anything that they're not sure about." And the missing women case was unlike anything the department had faced before, he said. Investigators had no bodies, no forensic evidence, and no clear idea when the women disappeared, since they were often reported missing months or even years after they were last seen. The vague time frames made questioning suspects next to impossible since there was no way to verify their stories and alibis. As a result, police were unable to eliminate suspects, the list grew, and the investigation expanded rather than narrowed. "I don't think any one police department can do this type of investigation, because of the fact that it's so general and there's just so many possibilities," Lepine said. "There's just so many people that you can't eliminate. You can't narrow it. You can't focus. That's what it's all about; you can't focus." The lack of focus, or even a clear idea of the problem, made it difficult for managers to lobby for more resources in a department already stretched to the limit. A confidential report on the Vancouver department's workload changes from 1993 to 2000 notes that "one of the greatest stresses in an investigation is attempting to acquire and maintain enough human resources." The report, which was obtained by The Sun under B.C.'s Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act, shows the department lost 42 officers due to budget cuts over seven years, even as its workload increased by the equivalent of 89 jobs -- positions that were filled by pulling beat cops off the street and putting public safety in jeopardy. "Whenever there is an extraordinary investigation such as that into the missing women in the DTES (Downtown Eastside) or the home invasions of the elderly, investigators are borrowed from other squads whose workload is such that they can't be spared," the report says. "This creates stress for the investigators, stress in the organization, and increased overtime whenever staff shortages are created. There are not enough investigators available to provide the flexibility to create short-and medium-term task forces when an extraordinary need arises." Yet despite the obvious pressures on the department, it appears nobody in senior management ever alerted the public to the fact that it had too few resources to handle the missing women case. Chief Constable Terry Blythe, who took over as acting chief in June, 1999, admits he inherited a department vastly understaffed. But before he could demand additional resources, Blythe says, he first had to put a strong case together. "We can't just do things willy nilly overnight and tell somebody well, we need this or that," he said. "We've got to be able to justify very clearly why we're doing what we're doing." Blythe said one of his first moves as chief was to assign the planning and research section to prepare a comprehensive report on workload changes -- the first in seven years. The report, which was presented to him last December, painted such a shocking portrait of the state of the department, that council immediately responded by approving funding for 50 permanent positions. But in the spring and summer of 1999, senior officers endured in silence. They had already committed 10 of their top investigators to the home invasion task force, which formed in February of that year to probe attacks on the elderly. So they scrounged officers from throughout the department to work on the missing women case. The result was a team of inexperienced or over-worked investigators who were specifically instructed to avoid calling themselves a "task force." "This was not a task force," Lepine said. "And they made sure that we never did call it a task force. It was a review team to review the information." And it was far from the nine-member team advertised. A number of the officers carried other duties, some were doing the work of two or three people, and others were assigned on only a part-time basis. "It may have been under-resourced," Blythe acknowledged in an interview this week. "But I don't want anybody to believe that we didn't think it was serious. We've been hit with this criticism so hard that it's tough to defend yourself. "But right from the beginning, I think we've acted very responsibly and we've done as much as we could with the resources we had and with the information we had." As for the fact that two of the initial investigators on the case had less than 20 years on the job between them and had never worked in homicide, Blythe said they were still skilled investigators. "So even if they didn't have a lot of experience investigating a homicide, they were good police officers." The senior officers, meanwhile, were overworked. Lepine confirmed that he and his partner, who were pulled from the homicide squad, were juggling several jobs while working on the missing women case. They assisted with new murders, pursued leads on their own unsolved homicide files and, the rest of the time, tried to build a list of suspects for the review team. "You're trying to do several things at the same time, trying to do a balancing act, trying to focus on the missing women," Lepine said. "But at the same time, as situations were coming up on homicides that we were involved in, we could not ignore those ... so we're trying to balance our time between that and, as a result, working long hours." Field, who was in charge of the missing women team, also was doing double duty, according to the confidential report to Blythe on workload changes. The report notes that the missing person's and coroner's liaison units originally were supervised by a staff sergeant. But department downsizing eliminated that position and the duties were downloaded on Field, who was already overseeing eight homicide detectives. She was also on call for the homicide squad every second weekend, further harming her quality of life, the report says. Field confirmed in an interview that workload issues and frustration with the lack of resources on the missing women case played a role in her recent transfer to the department's mounted squad. "There was just too much being asked of us," she said. "You want to do this and you want to do it right. You just can't." The Sun has also determined that, initially at least, neither Field nor anyone else on the review team had received major case management training, which is taught at the Canadian Police College and is considered a standard requirement for people handling major investigations. Ontario, for instance, implemented major case management province-wide in the wake of the inquiry into the bungled Paul Bernardo murder investigation in that province. Field subsequently received the training a year later. But the workload report to Blythe notes that major case management has never been fully implemented in the Vancouver department -- again because of staffing problems. "Several members of the major crime section have been trained in the MCM model, but it has not been fully implemented because of the additional investigators required," the report says. On the matter of infighting amongst team members, a number of officers, including Lepine, confirmed it was a problem. "There was a conflict there; I can say that now because I'm retired," he said."There was a conflict." Lepine did not identify anybody by name, he but indicated there were officers on the team who had their own agenda and were working at cross-purposes to other investigators. "It's like anywhere -- you can't have this Starsky and Hutch thing," he said. "That doesn't happen in police departments. Police have to work together. Everybody has to know what each other's doing. Everybody takes a responsibility as part of the team. These guys were not team players." As for the computer problems, police officers told The Sun the data entry people were also overworked and unable to keep up with the massive amount of information being gathered by investigators. As a result, some of the information still had not been entered by the time the team was disbanded, and the file passed to the joint forces team of RCMP and Vancouver police. The data entry people also lacked the proper training and, as a result, the team lost a chunk of material -- although it still had back-up copies on paper. However, the team had no way to know exactly what had been lost, requiring investigators to go back and somehow determine what was in the computer and what was not. Field acknowledges there were problems with the investigation. "But that isn't to say that the people that were there didn't have their hearts in the right place," she said. "They certainly did. That may explain some of the burnout. Because we did care so much, it took a toll on us personally." Lepine, who worked in the vice squad for years, agreed. "I personally have dealt with prostitutes for many, many years," he said. "I sympathize with their situation and if I had gone through life with the things that have happened to them, I might be on the street, too. And to say that we don't care about prostitutes is an absolute, bald-faced lie." In many ways, Field said, the case overtook her life. "I never, ever stopped thinking about it," she said. "Not only the internal issues, but you're also thinking who or how could this happen and what can you do about it. And it's your responsibility." As team leader, Field also worried about the strain on the other investigators, who desperately wanted to solve the case. "How do you help them carry on when you know, yourself, that everybody's over-worked. Because you do care about the people you work with." In the end, the team contacted other departments and asked if there was anything more they could be doing. Field says they were told: "'Other than forming a 50-man task force -- no. Given what you've got, you've done everything you can do.'" Still, Field said, the case bothers her to this day. "I see the articles in the paper or I get a call and I get this little pang," she said. "It's important to me. The case is important. Everyone there was dedicated. It wasn't a perfect investigation and I think we've all learned things. But nobody's ever investigated a case like this. "The investigators that are working on it now know what they have to do and, unfortunately, it's going to take a lot of money and manpower to do that," she said. Subject: Question regarding serial killer Mr. Mendoza, I have been following your website for a few years now and I would like to thank you for the invaluable resource that you have created. I would have to say that at least 75% of the websites on the topic of serial killing all use the text from your site for their killer bios. I have a couple of questions that I am hoping you might be able to answer. A friend of mine told me of a show on either A&E or Discovery that covered an unusual killer in the US (Wisconsin?). He explained that one night an intruder broke in a home and kidnapped a teenage boy who was sleeping on the living room couch. The kidnapper, who was probably about 20, lived with his elderly parents and they never suspected that their son had a teenage boy tied to a bed up in the attic. The victim was constantly beaten and the kidnapper said he liked to hear his bones breaking. On one occasion when the kidnapper was out of the house the boy was able to get out of his restraints and make his way downstairs. Apparently he kept passing out due to the pain from his broken body and his kidnapper made it home and carried him back upstairs. He was thrown in a closet where he stayed until he had the chance to escape again. This time he made it to a phone and was able to call the police by using his nose to dial. The cops arrived just as the kidnapper pulled up to the house. It turns out that the kidnapper was responsible for the deaths of a few other boys in the neighborhood. Does this ring a bell? I also wanted to know if you have the full copy of the Richard Speck prison video available for download. Thank you for all your hard work. How everyone started calling the local police department because they thought they saw "Hannibal Lecter" the actual person that the character was based on. However, his real name is never indicated. I finally came across an article indicating that his true name had been copywritten and was unable to be published. I really don't think they killed anyone though, I never met mark byres, but I heard a lot about him. he went to the same church Damien had gone to (when he did go to church). Damien went to church in I think middle school...I don't remember much, just about how a few of my friends sat next to him in the pews and Damien would make fun of the preacher. Damien did read a lot, he got in a lot of fights too about some girl, I don't remember her name though. he scared a lot of people, he would go around school and when people stared at him he would look at them and yell BOO! James was dragged to a railway line after being hit several times on the head. He was stripped from the waist down and had bricks thrown at him, they kept throwing these bricks because they said "he wouldnt stay down". James was then tortured in the most horrific way. He had blue enamel paint (which they had stolen from a shop) poured into his eyes and mouth, they kept beating him, they then removed his foreskin with their fingernails. They inserted batteries into his anus and when they could not remove them, they used an iron paling to do so and in the process almost removed his colon. They carried on hitting James with bricks and an iron bar. They jumped up and down on his genitals. One of the boys footprints was found on the bridge of James's nose where they had kicked him in the face. All the while James was crying and screaming for his mummy and daddy but nobody heard his cries. When they had had their fun, they dragged James, whose brain was by now so traumatised by the blows on to the railway tracks so a train would run over him. This eventually happened hours later. In the 1890's two women murdered more than 24 children in Oslo, they were caught, tried and convicted of the crime. This may not sound like much compared to the likes of Thomas Quick (who have confessed to many more murders) and Andrei Chickatilo, but considering the Norwegian population today is roughly 4,3 million and back then about 2,5 million 24 is alot. Why they weren't sentenced to die, is strange considering we had the death penalty back then and killers were usually put to death by decapitation by the use of an axe. I would however believe that what saved them, was their relative good looks and their gender. The nursery murders was the worst serial/mass murders in modern Norwegian history in peace time. Speaking of peace, or lack there of, during WWII the leader of a gang of torturers and traitor became known as the worst torturer and most sadistic man in Norwegian history, the gang became know under their nume-de-guerre Rinnan-banden (in English: The Rinnan Gang) His name was Henry Oliver Rinnan. And he really loved his work. I just thought I'd tell you about him, even though he was a war criminal and not a genuine serial/mass murderer. But he was a genuine sadist. She was told that they would have meetings everynight for the summer and she went to one the other night. However I told her she was only allowed to go once a week to the meeting. Dear Sirs, as an avid reader of Your Crime Archive, i desperatly miss one of our most popular cases in recent history in Germany, the so-called "Hammermörder", the "hammer-killer", Norbert Pöhlke. He is a perfect fit for your "5+"-Category. Norbert Pöhlke was a policeman, living in a rural area in southwestern Germany, near Stuttgart, he was a caring, loving father of a family of three, he was the epitome of a "Spiessbürger", as we call it in Germany, an average citizen, intent to keeping up with his neighbours, never disturbing, never causing any trouble, clean, neat, a somewhat primitive role-model to all good citizens, and, as a consequence, a brutal killer. Pöhlke was a policeman, but he "moonlighted" as a bank-robber, and what a cruel bank-robber he was! His modus-operndi was always the same: He stole a car, drove off, parked in front of a bank, entered, smashed the cashier-windows with a hammer, threatened the clerks with his pistol, grabbed the loot, and drove off. Leaving behind the car, coming back home, being the good citizen, he always pretended to be. Nothing new, uuh? Except for his unique method to collect the cars for his several robberies: With his policeman´s authority he passed some unsuspecting driver on one of the so many deserted roads in his district, made him stop on the side of the road, and shot him smack in the face. Just to get his car, for his next attempt at a bank. Three times. Pöhlke was finally given away by the gun he used. It was the only gun he ever could own, the gun the police gave to him. ( oh, the NRA must like that:" Weapons don´t kill people, people kill people." It´s the most shitty of all arguments. It is always the opportunity, that makes people kill other people (or themselves), and the oppotunity is called "a gun". ). But before local police could seize Norbert Pöhlke, he sensed what was upon him. So he took his police-gun, got upstairs, shot his wife right in her face, went into the room, where his two children slept, took the oldest, shot him straight in his face, and took his youngest son, the beloved one, wrapped him in some unstained clothes, and drove away to Italy. As unbelievable as it may seem, Pöhlke took his little son to Italy, the place Pöhlke always saw as the only happy place on earth (as a child he and his parents had spent their vacations on the coast of Italy). The single most unbelievable document of Pöhlkes last days is a photography of him and his infant son alongside an italian "feta" (a celebration) at the beach, where both of them would die. 10 Days after his flight from Germany Norbert Pöhlke would kill his infant son, and himself. This is one of the most disturbing cases of a man killing for no obvious reason, i ever heard of (except Your VERY disturbing page). There is some verification to the stuff i wrote, the best example being the archives of Germanys most reknowned news-magazine, "Der Spiegel", (kind of Time-Magazine in German) . The best verification should be the book Fred Breinersdorfer wrote about the case, Fred Breinersdorfer: Der Hammermörder , Munich, 1986, Heyne TB 8557 . Unfortunately, the book is out of print, so there are just a few copies left today. Fortunately, i snatched one of them, via the internet, to an even modestly price. Unfortunately, further, all these texts are in German. Give him, Norbert Pöhlke, a chance, to posthumously enter your archives of the deranged, the sick, the violent. He´s worth it, the dirty fuck! (2 little children, and his wife. And 3 innocent people, whose doom was just their car). I´m currently writing the "Hammermörder"-Chapter for a book about German "made for TV-Movies" (in German it is simply "Fernsehspiele", there isn´t even a translation in English), for Fred Breinersdorfer made a "TV-Movie" about Mr. Pöhlke, and it is my job, to prove, that "Der Hammermörder" is one of the best "TV- Movies" ever made in Germany. Which sure it is. Please excuse the sorry state of my English, but i rarely correspond in Your language, my second language besides German is French.

During the trials in the early 90's I was training to be a victim advocate. I was privileged to sit with and "support" the parents of the 3 women Bolin murdered. I was present during the first trial AND the 1st retrial of Terry Lynn Matthews. I was present when Rosalie Martinez was evicted from the court room for "trying" to intimidate Bolin's half-brother while he was testifying. (it was quite heartening for the mother of Matthews I might add) I just finished reading her ridiculous letter to this site saying he was only tried for the one murder and was not a serial killer. In fact, I nearly fell off my chair. He has been tried AND convicted 6 (maybe 7 times for Christ's sake) When I think of Rosalie Martinez Bolin I can't help but remember her truly outrageous statement of "I feel pretty" when 20/20 asked her what in the world could she possibly be thinking marrying this headcase. I wonder how pretty SHE would feel with a tire iron across her head. And lets not forget that the tire iron was only used because Bolin's stabbing and drowning didn't kill Matthews. How pretty she would be. On behalf of all of us women out here, I would like to make a collective sigh of relief that he is not on the streets. I just finished the above book by Fredrick Kunkle, which is the story of five kids who killed another kid just because he was goofy. The interesting thing about it is that none of the five seemed to perceive that they'd done anything wrong, even after they were tried (or pled) and sent to prison. I was curious to see if there was an update to the story, and searched with Yahoo and on your site to no avail. I know you mostly concentrate on multiple murderers, but the level of psychopathy in some of these teen killers is really interesting (I can think of a few more cases like this, including some female perpetrators) I can give you more information if you like, though the book is a library book and I eventually have to take it back. I read the letter someone posted regarding Wayne Nance, the serial killer that lived and plied his trade in Montana...To clarify, Wayne was beaten to death by the victim, who broke the butt of a rifle over his head as Wayne Nance tried to assault his wife. It seems Wayne Nance would case his victims homes while he delivered furniture for a local store. FREE THE WEST MEMPHIS THREE! I have a neighbor that thinks she might have cheated death in 1980/1981. She had a four hour lay over at the Minneapolis Minnsota airport. A nice looking airport worker asked her to drive around with him in his van. He took her to his house. The van did not have any handles inside. She remembers using the restroom in his home upstairs and there was no door....it looked directly into his bedroom. She said their conversation was getting creepy so she talked about her sick brother. He agreed to take her back to the airport. Just recently she had some friends tell her that there was a serial killer in that same area around the early eighties that preyed on young single women at the airport. Do you have a name and or picture or other info that would be helpful. My neighbor really wants to find out if this was the same guy. I read your rejected application from Amazon and I must confess my amazement. Their claim that they reject websites or content that promotes violence is pure bullshit. They sell a CD called the "Free The West Memphis Three", a case about which both you and I have written. The CD in question provides both indirect and direct financial renumeration to the convicted killers, Damien Echols, Jason Baldwin and Jessie Misskelley Jr in the form of sales revenue to a website whose proceeds are used to fund phone calls to them in prison as well as propagandize their futile cause. Since all direct appeals have failed, they are factually guilty of the crimes as adjudicated by the highest court in the United States. I can't say Amazon's hypocrisy comes as a surprise, but I thought you ought to at least know "the rest of the story." |
